How to be More Romantic
by L.A. Hunter
If your relationship is lacking excitement, passion and closeness, make the decision today to become more romantic. It's as easy as that. Once you are in the mindset that you really want to live a love affair instead of just existing together, everything else will fall into place easily.
You will look at things in a whole new way, every object you see will invite the question, "Is this romantic and how can I use it to add excitement and passion to our relationship?" Even when you least expect it, ideas will pop out at you from unexpected directions. With practice, you can become an expert at turning a boring time into a romantic rendezvous.
Here are a few easy tips to get you started on your new romantic adventure --
-
Remind yourself throughout the day that you are going to be more romantic. Write it on your calendar, send yourself an email, write yourself a note; whatever it takes to keep it in the foreground of your mind.
-
Schedule, at least once a week, uninterrupted time to spend together. An evening alone is great, but if that's unrealistic, an hour or two will work. If you have limited time, take a walk hand in hand or meet for coffee or dinner. Throw a compliment or two in your love's direction while looking at him/her and smiling so your compliment really hits them. Talk about each others hopes, dreams, likes and dislikes. Try not to talk about bills, kids and work.
-
Make it easy on yourself. Simple gestures of love are the most romantic. If you're writing a note such as, "Don't forget to pick up milk," end it with a little drawing of a heart. Dust off your candles and light them during dinner or while relaxing in the evening. If safety is an issue due to pets, children or if you just feel uneasy about lit candles, visit www.Romantic-Secrets.com where you can get candles which are beautiful and flicker just like real candles except these are battery operated, there is no danger of fire.
-
Anytime you see something which could enhance your relationship, consider picking it up. For example, the office supply store has heart shaped sticky notes great for leaving messages on. Book stores have hundreds of books about being romantic, may I suggest "Romeo’s Playbook". It's a great guide full of relationship do's and don'ts for men. While walking you might spot a wild flower, that will heighten the mood.
Remember, romance isn't about how much money you spend. Start slow and your time together will soon become exciting and passionate. Once you feel comfortable planning romantic evenings, try moving on to romantic weekends. Two to four romantic weekends a year will help keep your love hot and rejuvenated.
